HINDOC Training

HINDOC offers educational and training programmes through its sister company, Open Access Industrial Training College (OAITC).

OAITC has gone into partnership with the University of South Africa (UNISA) to develop short learning programmes in the field of occupational health, safety and environmental studies. These programmes will serve not only the purpose of providing much needed capacity building in the industry, but will also provide a vehicle for access to tertiary study for learners who are not in possession of a matriculation certificate.

Currently available are courses at the NQF 2, 4 and 5 level. These short courses are to be formalized into a National Certificate at NQF level 5, and learners successfully completing the short courses will gain credits towards UNISA’s National Certificate in Environmental Science and Environmental Management.

The short courses will be of interest and benefit to:

  • People whose function in the workplace is to undertake environmental audits and/or assessments.
  • Engineers who wish to include environmental considerations into their development planning.
  • Environmental impact assessors.
  • Occupational and environmental hygienists.
  • Environmental, health and safety officers.
  • Any person whose work involves environmental and ecological assessments.
